IOC Executive Board members arrive in Kuwait City

IOC members have arrived in Kuwait City where the IOC Executive Board (EB) will meet from 28 to 29 November.
IOC member and President of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) Cheik Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah officially welcomed the IOC President Jacques Rogge and the EB members in Kuwait this morning. It is the first time that the IOC is holding one of its meetings in the Middle East since 1967. Later on this week, these members will attend the XV Asian Games in Doha, Qatar.
Meetings started yesterday with the Executive Council of the Association of the National Olympic Committees (ANOC) and continued this morning with the Olympic Solidarity Commission.
Tomorrow and Wednesday, the EB will hear reports from the IOC commissions and directors, as well as updates on the organisation of the forthcoming Games in Beijing, Vancouver and London. The agenda will also include a presentation by the Chairman of the IOC Coordination Commission for the Torino 2006 Olympic Winter Games, Jean-Claude Killy, on the Commission’s final report which analyses the lessons learnt from the Turin Games.
