IOC Executive Board meeting in Lausanne, 5 and 6 December 2017 – Information for the media


The International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Board (EB) will meet in Lausanne on 5 and 6 December 2017.

A decision with regard to the participation of Russian athletes in the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 will be taken by the IOC Executive Board, based on the findings of the two Commissions led by the former President of Switzerland, Samuel Schmid, and IOC Member Denis Oswald. A press conference will be organised to announce the decision at 7.30 p.m. on Tuesday 5 December.

The EB is also scheduled to receive reports from various IOC commissions, as well as updates on the activities of the IOC administration and the preparations for the forthcoming Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018. 

Media accreditation:
Accreditations are processed online. Media representatives wishing to cover the meetings are requested to register by Friday 1 December on the IOC website.

If you have already registered for previous meetings, please access your profile using your email address and tick the box for the December 2017 Executive Board meeting.

Accreditation cards will be distributed at the Beaulieu Lausanne Convention Centre.

Media facilities:
All media facilities, including the media working room, press conferences and press briefings, will be located at Beaulieu Lausanne Convention Centre, Avenue des Bergières 10, 1004 Lausanne.

The media working room will be equipped with free wireless internet access.

Opening Hours:

  • Tuesday 5 December / 9 a.m. – 11 p.m.
  • Wednesday 6 December / 9 a.m. –  11 p.m.

Accommodation:
Media representatives are requested to make their own arrangements.

Media representatives who will not be in Lausanne will have the possibility of listening to both the IOC President’s press conferences live on 5 and 6 December by teleconference.

Please pre-register here for Tuesday 5 December and here for Wednesday 6 December to receive a dedicated dial-in number, a passcode and a personal pin for quicker and easier access to the conference.

Please regularly check @iocmedia, where we will send updates on the timing of the press conferences.

Both press conferences and the press briefing will be live on Periscope and YouTube.
