IOC Executive Board meeting and 25th Anniversary of the IOC Athletes’ Commission


The Executive Board (EB) of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) will meet in Lausanne from 21 to 23 June 2006.
 
The meetings will kick off on 21 June with a joint meeting with the Athletes' Commission which will celebrate its 25th Anniversary a few days earlier. Gathered in Lausanne for the occasion, present and former athletes of the commission will take part in a series of activities including a friendly football match on 19 June. Captained by Sergey Bubka and HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, the teams will play each other at the Juan Antonio Samaranch Stadium in Lausanne. The list of attendees will be available closer to the event.
 
On its second day of meetings, the EB will accept the Candidate Cities to host the XXII Olympic Winter Games in 2014 from the Applicant Cities of Sochi (Russia), Salzburg (Austria), Jaca (Spain), Almaty (Kazakhstan), PyeongChang (Republic of Korea), Sofia (Bulgaria), and Borjomi (Georgia) *. The EB will also hear reports from the IOC Directors and Commissions, as well as updates on the organisation of the forthcoming Games. All meetings will take place at the IOC headquarters in Vidy.
