IOC announces Composition of Evaluation Commission for 2010 Winter Games




Following the recent appointment of Gerhard Heiberg at the head of the Evaluation Commission for the XXI Olympic Winter Games in 2010, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) today announced the full composition of the Commission (see below). The team will analyse the candidature files that the three (1) candidate cities i.e. Vancouver (CAN), Salzburg (AUT) and Pyeongchang (KOR) will have submitted by January 2003 and make inspections on site before issuing a report in May 2003.

The dates of the visits will be as follows:



 



Pyeongchang (KOR): 14-17 February 2003
Vancouver (CAN):  2-5 March 2003
Salzburg (AUT): 13-16 March 2003





The final decision on the host city for the XXI Olympic Winter Games will be made by the full IOC membership during the 115th IOC Session in Prague on 2 July 2003.



 

(1)  Bern (SUI), which had been accepted as candidate city by the IOC Executive Board on 28 August withdrew its candidature on 27 September.
