IOC and Schenker sign long-term official supplier contract
The IOC President Jacques Rogge and Schenker CEO Thomas Held today signed in Berlin a long-term official supplier contract in the presence of IOC Vice-President Thomas Bach and Schenker Board Member Peter Schumann.
The IOC and the global freight forwarder company announced their long-term, strategic partnership earlier this year. The agreement positions Schenker as Official Supplier to the IOC for freight forwarding and customs clearance services for the Olympic Games. Schenker will work with the IOC and the Organising Committees for the Olympic Games in Athens 2004 (ATHOC), Turin 2006 (TOROC) and Beijing 2008 (BOCOG). The company will also assign a specialised team to focus on Olympic activities, including, in addition to the Games, providing services for all major IOC meetings and Sessions.
