IOC and ANOC meetings in Beijing – Information for the Media - Update


 
Coordination Commission meeting – 1 to 3 April
 
The Coordination Commission - the group of IOC representatives and experts who have been monitoring Games preparations and guiding the Beijing Organising Committee over the last seven years – is visiting Beijing for the last time before the Games this summer.

Meetings of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) - 5 to 9 April
 
ANOC will hold a series of meetings in Beijing (see programme below). Media interested in covering these meetings are requested to follow the accreditation procedure handled by the IOC (see below).
 
 
Executive Board (EB) meeting – 10 to 11 April
 
On the first day, the EB will meet with the National Olympic Committees, which will have held their General Assembly earlier in the week. It will then hear reports on the IOC’s latest activities, receive updates on preparations for the forthcoming Olympic Games: Beijing 2008, Vancouver 2010, London 2012 and Sochi 2014, and take decisions on IOC matters.

Accreditation (now closed):
For journalists whose profiles have already been entered for previous meetings, please connect to your profile with your e-mail address and tick the box for the Executive Board meeting. For journalists who have not yet registered, please follow the instructions.
Please check your passport details and make sure that you have your photo saved in your profile. If you have any problems uploading your photo, please send it to us at pressoffice@olympic.org.
You will then be able to collect your accreditation card in Beijing, in the lobby of the China World Hotel. The accreditation desk will be open from 5 to 10 April, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
 
Deadline: All accreditation requests must be processed before 17 March 2008.
 
Visa:
Media who have not yet made their own arrangements are invited to fill in the Invitation Letter Request Form and fax it back to the IOC on the following number +41 21 621 6356. This form is to facilitate your visa request from your local embassy.  Please click here to download the form. 
 
Deadline: Invitation Letter Request Forms must be faxed back to the IOC before 17 March 2008.

Transport:
Shuttle services will be provided from the Beijing Capital Airport to the China World Hotel and back.
 
Should you need further information about transport, please ask at the Transport Desk, which will be open from 5 to 13 April in the lobby of the China World Hotel.
 
Media facilities:
A working room will be set up from 6 to 13 April in the China World Hotel in the Arcade Level -1, room 9A, with all necessary facilities including high-speed internet lines. The room will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.  
 
Conference calls:
Media representatives who do not travel to Beijing will be able to listen to the IOC President's press conference on 11 April. The number and access code will be as follows:
