Information management director takes up his post
Philippe Blanchard has taken up his post as Director of Information Management, a position created as a result of the IOC audits commissioned by President Rogge after his election.
This new department, composed of the Olympic Studies Centre, records and archives section and the press section (press review, media monitoring, etc.), will be responsible for putting in place the systems which will ensure efficient management and sharing of the information, knowledge and intellectual patrimony held by the IOC and Olympic Museum.
From Andersen Consulting to the IOC
A French national aged 38, Philippe Blanchard was previously Director of Development for the consultancy group La Cité Apprenante, where he was in charge of educational programmes and knowledge management. As such, he has helped the IOC with a number of projects since 2001. Previously, Mr Blanchard worked for Andersen Consulting, where he was responsible for organisational consultancy projects. In this capacity he worked with the organising committee for the 1992 Olympic Winter Games in Albertville.
