Information for the media – IOC Executive Board meeting in Acapulco in October


The Executive Board (EB) of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) will meet in Acapulco, Mexico, from 24 to 26 October 2010.  

The EB will begin with a joint meeting with the National Olympic Committees (NOCs). The Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) is holding its General Assembly from 20 to 22 October. This will be followed by the First Olympic Sport Convention on 23 October.

During its meetings, the EB will hear reports on the IOC’s latest activities, receive updates on the preparations for the forthcoming Olympic Games in London 2012, Sochi 2014 and Rio de Janeiro 2016, and the Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck 2012, and decide on the disciplines and events that will be included in the sports programme of the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi.

All meetings are taking place at the Fairmont Acapulco Princess Hotel.

Media representatives who will not travel to Acapulco will have the possibility to listen to the President’s final Press Conference on 26 October by teleconference. The number and access code will be as follows:
