GOVERNMENTS EXPRESS SUPPORT FOR WORLD ANTI-DOPING AGENCY


Lausanne, 17 November 1999 - Government ministers and officials responsible for anti-doping within their national jurisdictions today in Sydney affirmed their commitment to participate in the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), the independent anti-doping agency established by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

The IOC is pleased to receive the public authorities’ support for the independent WADA and looks forward to mutual cooperation between the Olympic Movement and the public authorities in the fight against doping in sport.
