From 8 to 24 August, the celebration continues at The Olympic Museum…


Experiencing the Beijing Olympic Games in Lausanne is all about following the Games while taking part in physical and cultural activities cleverly linking tradition and modernity.

Friday 8 August: Opening of the Games of the XXIX Olympiad in Beijing
At 9 a.m.: Taijiquan in the park
At 2 p.m.: Live broadcast of the Opening Ceremony
At 5.30 p.m.: Aperitif offered by the Museum and Chinese cuisine at the restaurant
At 7.30 p.m.: Broadcast of the highlights of the Opening Ceremony
At 9 p.m.: Pipa & Rock - a fusion project. Exceptional concert with YANG Jing, one of the greatest pipa (Chinese lute) virtuosos, accompanied by Swiss musicians (voice, guitar, keyboard, bass & percussion). Open on this occasion until 11 p.m.
 
Every day from Saturday 9 to Sunday 24 August
At 9 a.m.: Taijiquan in the park
From 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.: Broadcast of the competitions on a giant screen (live or pre-recorded)
Midday: Chinese gastronomic fortnight at the Museum Restaurant
From 4 to 8 p.m.: Athlete aperitif in partnership with LFM. Live: results and highlights of the day, discussions and competitions.
 
Special weekends from 2.30 to 7.30 p.m.
Friday 8, Saturday 9 & Sunday 10 August: Paper cutting with an appearance by HAN Jing, artist and President of the Xi’an Paper Cutting Association. Fan dance with the participation of the Qin Shi Shu Huà Shè Group (only Saturday & Sunday)
Saturday 16 & Sunday 17 August: Chinese martial art (wushu) with Master RONG Jun and his students. Calligraphy. Demonstration by YAN Sabrina
Friday 22, Saturday 23 & Sunday 24 August: Acrobatic show with the Guizhou Acrobatic Troup.
 
Friday 22 August: Engraving: 29th (Olympiad) - Beijing - 2008 on the Summer Games column outside the Museum entrance.
 
Special opening hours from 9 to 24 August: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
