Francophonia trophy for athens 2004

ATHENS 2004 has surpassed the work of all former Organising Committees for the Olympic Games in a non-French-speaking country in the use and promotion of French as one of the official languages of the Olympic Games. For the first time, language service requirements for the French-speaking members of the Olympic Family have been fully satisfied, throughout the Olympic preparation and at Games time.

50 000 pages d'informations sur le site Internet
ATHENS 2004 has undertaken a number of actions to use and promote the French language before and during Games time. These activities include: 50,000 pages on the website, INFO2004 entirely translated, all publications also in French, direct interpretation and translation, and 400 French-speaking volunteers.

In recognition of its work, ATHENS 2004 was presented with the Francophonia Trophy by the French Minister Delegate for Francophonia, Mr Pierre-Andre Wiltzer.
