First meeting of the Executive Board in its new composition

On 24, 25 and 26 November 2004, the IOC Executive Board (EB) will meet in Lausanne in its new composition. For the first time, Gunilla Lindberg will take part as Vice-President, and Zaiqing Yu and Richard Carrión as members, further to their election to the EB at the IOC Session in Athens last August. The EB, chaired by IOC President Jacques Rogge, has 15 members, all elected by the IOC Session.

Meeting with ANOC and the Athletes’ Commission
On Wednesday 24 November, the IOC will hold a joint meeting with the Executive Council of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC), whose President is Mario Vázquez Raña, followed by a meeting with the IOC Athletes’ Commission, whose Chairman is Sergey Bubka.

Reports by the Chairmen of the Coordination Commissions
On the agenda of this EB is the presentation of the reports of all the IOC departments and various commissions. The EB members will also hear the reports of the Chairmen of the Olympic Games Coordination Commissions. An intermediate assessment of the organisation of the 2004 Games in Athens will thus be presented by Denis Oswald. As far as the future Games are concerned, the preparation progress reports will be given: for Turin 2006 by Jean-Claude Killy, accompanied by Organising Committee President Valentino Castellani; for Beijing 2008, by Hein Verbruggen; and for Vancouver 2010 by René Fasel.

IOC President’s Press Conference
This year’s last EB will end on Friday 26 November with the IOC President’s press conference.
