Fasting – the abstention from eating and drinking – is an integral part of all of the world’s major cultures and religions and may affect, either positively or negatively, the athlete’s health and performance.
To address these issues, the IOC Medical Commission hosted a Workshop to review the available evidence on fasting, athletic performance and health.
