End of a "smooth-running" Session

Having been elected in the morning, Phil Craven took the oath as a new IOC member at the commencement of the afternoon's proceedings. The Session then heard the reports of the Chairmen of the Olympic Games Knowledge Services, Richard K. Gosper, and of the Medical Commission, Arne Ljungqvist, followed by the activity reports of the IOC Directors.

Before closing the Session, the IOC President paid a special tribute to members Richard K.Gosper, Tomas Sithole, and Zhenliang He whose mandates as EB members come to an end. As João Havelange, the IOC dean was not present, his fellow colleague Marc Hodler made the closing speech of a "smooth-running" 115th Session, and noted that with Jacques Rogge as IOC President, the future and success of the IOC are in good hands.
