EB visits the Olympic Village

This morning, the Executive Board and the IOC Athletes’ Commission visited the Olympic Village with the IOC Honorary President for Life, Juan Antonio Samaranch and the ATHOC President, Gianna Angelopoulos-Daskalaki. Welcomed by Sotiris Vaos, Director General of the Village, the delegation, led by IOC President Jacques Rogge, visited various facilities including the polyclinic, the residential centre, gym and swimming pool.
The President said he was very impressed with the infrastructures offered to the athletes by ATHOC.

"A fantastic Village"
Wearing the Olympic volunteers’ uniform, President Rogge had the following comments on the Village where he will be staying. “I think the Village is fantastic. Of the 16 Games that I have attended [the first three as a competitor in the sailing events – ed.], it is the best one I have ever seen.
