Early planning for Vancouver 2010

Members of the Vancouver 2010 Board of Directors have held their second meeting as early planning continues for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Directors received a number of status reports on the progress being made on the development of Games venue, marketing and communications plans.

Important work done
“While it's still very early in the timeline towards the 2010 Games, important work is being done each day to help bring us closer to our goal of hosting an outstanding event in just over six years from now," said Jack Poole, Chairman of Vancouver 2010. "These preparations are establishing the overall project schedule to ensure we meet all the milestones between now and the Opening Ceremony on 12 February 2010.”

Selection of CEO expected first quarter of the year
The 2010 Chief Executive Officer Search Task Force reports that the Vancouver office of Ray Berndtson, a leading executive search firm, has been hired to conduct the search for Vancouver 2010's CEO. National newspaper advertisements appeared at the beginning of December. It is hoped that a CEO will be selected by the end of the first quarter of 2004.
