Death of IOC honorary member Jan Staubo
It was with great sadness that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) learned today of the death at the age of 82 of Jan Staubo, IOC Honorary Member in Norway since 2000.
Thirteen times Norwegian tennis and ice hockey champion, a member of the Norwegian tennis and bandy teams, and multiple Oslo champion in several other sports, Jan Staubo was an IOC member from 1966 to 2000 and a member of several commissions.
Jan Staubo was particularly well known and respected in Norway for his role as a fighter pilot during the Second World War.
The IOC expresses its deepest sympathy to his family.
