Countdown is on to the first Winter Youth Olympic Games!

Athletes are training hard and the Innsbruck 2012 organisers are getting ready for the first-ever Winter Youth Olympic Games - the final countdown has officially started! Today in the heart of Innsbruck, OMEGA, the Official Timekeeper, unveiled the Countdown Clock that will tick away the days, hours, minutes and seconds until the opening ceremony on 13 January 2012.

The unveiling of the Countdown Clock marks just six months until the start of the Innsbruck 2012 Winter Youth Olympic Games. Never one to miss a party, Yoggl the mascot made sure he was part of this exciting event and brought along some famous Austrian Olympians to help him celebrate, such as gold medallists Ernst Hinterseer (Alpine skiing) Anton Innauer (ski jumping), Fritz Strobl (Alpine skiing) and Franz Klammer (Alpine skiing).

Also on hand for the unveiling were OMEGA Timing General Manager Christophe Berthaud, Peter Bayer, CEO of the Innsbruck 2012 Winter Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee, and the Mayor of Innsbruck, Christine Oppitz-Plörer.
