Call for applications: IOC looks for partners to boost injury prevention in sport
The protection of athletes’ health and preventing injuries and illnesses in sport are top priorities for the IOC and its Medical Commission. The IOC therefore partners with selected research centres around the world and supports research in the field of sports medicine. This has enabled the IOC to develop an international network of expert scientists and clinicians in sports injury and disease prevention research.
Since 2009, and through the annual awarding of four-year grants, the IOC has supported research centres that have demonstrated clinical, educational and research expertise in elite sport. This model was extended for the currently selected research centres for another two years in 2013.
The IOC is now calling for applications in regard to the selection as partners of four research centres for the period 2015-2018, starting 1 January 2015. Applications need to be submitted to the IOC Medical and Scientific Department by 1 August 2014. The requirements and full details of the application can be found here.
