World Broadcaster Meeting
The World Broadcaster Meeting will take place from 9 to 11 August 2006 in Beijing. More than 300 delegates of radio and television rights-holding broadcasters from around the world will be briefed by the host broadcaster for the Beijing Games – Beijing Olympic Broadcasting Co., Ltd (BOB) - on areas such as production plans, the International Broadcast Centre and services to broadcasters. There will also be presentations by BOCOG about transport, accommodation, technology, accreditation and marketing.
1st World Press Briefing
The 1st World Press Briefing will be held in Beijing from 25 to 29 September 2006 and is designed to allow international news organisations to review first hand the preparations surrounding the Beijing Games. The briefing will offer attendees the chance to learn about the facilities and services that will be available for the accredited media during the Games so that they can start to prepare for their Games-time coverage. The members of the press present will be able to participate in venue tours, look at accommodation facilities and hear from BOCOG about the competition schedule, planned services and facilities for the media at the Main Press Centre and the venues, as well as about media accommodation, transport, accreditation, rate cards, technology and photo and news services. The attendees will also have the opportunity to experience China’s unique history and culture during their stay.
