Beijing 2008 to launch its marketing plan in September
Xiaoyu Jiang, Vice President of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG), announced today that a grand ceremony will be held on September 1 to officially launch the marketing programme for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
"The Olympic Games in China provide an honourable opportunity for Chinese firms to present themselves to the world and for foreign companies to strengthen or build their ties with China," Jiang said.
The launch event will provide a forum to reach Chinese and international business players in order to meet the following objectives, namely: (1) To promote Beijing 2008 Olympic Games as an extraordinary business and marketing opportunity; (2) To outline and explain the scope and benefits of Olympic sponsorship/partnership; (3) To outline the specific sponsorship categories and opportunities/rights and benefits.
The marketing plan was formulated in line with the Olympic marketing principles, from a study of the potential industries and enterprises and after consultation with the International Olympic Committee. The marketing programme will provide and maximize capital, goods, technology and services vital for the staging of the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008.
