Beijing 2008: "Olympic reader" for primary schools

The Organising Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad in 2008 in Beijing (BOCOG) will provide some 610,000 copies of “Olympic readers” for the capital city's primary school students in an effort to promote the Olympic Movement.

Olympic history
The reader compiled by BOCOG introduces comprehensively Olympic history, the Olympic Spirit and the organisation of the Beijing 2008 Games. It has two volumes, designed for students in different grades.

Preparation for the Games
“We hope the book will help students further enrich their Olympic knowledge and better prepare for the 2008 Games,” BOCOG Executive Vice-President Jiang Xiaoyu said at the launching ceremony on Wednesday, held at the Beijing Primary School.

Second publication
The Primary School Olympic Reader is the second official educational publication produced by BOCOG. The Secondary School Olympic Readers were first published in January last year.
