An Olympic Day party in Buenos Aires

In a city that lives for sport, music and culture, it’s no surprise that Olympic Day in Buenos Aires was celebrated in style by the future host city of the Youth Olympic Games.

More than 35 sports federations came together in the heart of the city for the public to try out and enjoy new sports. From wakeboarding to ice hockey, the sports on offer were experienced by 1,200 locals of all ages; and to keep the energy levels up and the party pumping, there were plenty of music acts and performances for everyone to enjoy.

With just over three years to go to Buenos Aires 2018, this Olympic Day celebration gave a real taste of the innovative festival-like spirit that is to be created in the Argentinian capital for the Youth Olympic Games.

Olympic Day is celebrated on 23 June each year to get everyone around the world active and enjoying sport.

The 3rd Youth Olympic Games will take place in October 2018.
