Agora: Surpassing yourself

Agora: Surpassing yourself
Monday 19 November at 6.30 p.m.
Olympic Museum
Presenters: Jean-Philippe Rapp & Jean-François Develey

As part of its end-of-year programmes, the Sports Department of the Télévision Suisse Romande is planning a fascinating look at Surpassing yourself. This subject fits perfectly within the framework of the consideration we are giving this year to an athlete’s mental performance, as part of the Mind of a Champion exhibition.

How do you overcome something which affects your physical integrity?
How do you emerge as a stronger and better person than before?

Talking about their experiences will be two athletes who truly do have the mind of a champion! Frank Bruno who, after losing a leg, became a deep-sea diver, life saver and top level athlete; and Dominique Benassi, who also lost a leg, but went on to become several times disabled triathlon world champion. Together, they completed the Atlantic Challenge rowing race. They jointly founded and run the Bout de Vie association.

They will be accompanied by other athletes who have had a similar experience and Laurent Junier, a paediatrician and leading re-education specialist.

Reservation required. Contact agora@olympic.org or phone 021 621 65 11.
