A stopover in Pakistan for President Rogge

Before going to Kuwait for the Executive Board (EB) meetings, International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Jacques Rogge made a stop in Islamabad, Pakistan. This Thursday, President Rogge had a meeting with the President of the Republic, Pervez Musharraf, and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz. Their discussion focused on the development of sport in Pakistan, and the role it can play in teaching young people certain values, such as respect, friendship and the search for excellence. President Rogge was accompanied by IOC member Syed Shahid Ali, and the President of the Pakistan Olympic Association, Syed Arif Hasan.
Forthcoming visits: Kuwait and Qatar
After the EB meetings that he will chair on 28 and 29 November in Kuwait, President Rogge will fly to Doha, Qatar, which is hosting the 15th Asian Games from 1 to 15 December.
