A place for Olympians by Olympians

If you are an Olympian visiting Vancouver during the 2010 Olympic Winter Games, there is a place for you - the Olympian’s Reunion Centre (ORC), located in the historic Wing Sang Building, 51 East Pender Street in downtown Vancouver.

The ORC offers Olympians a place to meet,  socialise and enjoy live coverage of the Olympic events. Designed to enhance the Olympic Games experience for all visiting Olympians, and their friends and family, the ORC is open from 11 February 2010 until 28 February 2010. The ORC is open daily from 12-11pm.

An Olympic Tradition

The ORC is the result of a partnership between the IOC, the World Olympians Association (WOA) and the worldwide Olympic Partner, Visa. The first ORC was established in 1996 at the Olympic Games in Atlanta, and it has become a part of each edition of the Winter and Summer Olympic Games.  Visa sponsors the Opening Gala to thank all Olympians for their spirit, teamwork, and dedication to the Olympic ideals. Since 1996, the ORC has welcomed more than 10,000 athletes and guests.

Special community events

The ORC will host a number of events with communities in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver. For example, a school programme with the City of Vancouver will give young people an opportunity to meet Olympians, to hear their stories and perhaps inspire them to become the Olympians of the future.  The ORC will also display some exhibits such as an IOC Beijing photo exhibit.
