A legal morning for the EB

Legal issues dominated the morning for the EB members, first, with the report by the Ethics Commission on its activities and the various cases of recently lodged complaints. The EB then discussed the work being done by the Juridical Commission to simplify the Olympic Charter's wording, in order to give the Commission the necessary direction in which to continue its studies. The morning closed with an approval by the EB of a request made by South African swimmer Sarah Poewe, for a nationality change from South African to German. Given that this request comes with the backing of the NOC and IF concerned, and that the request has been made due to the change of the athlete’s permanent residence to Germany, the EB gave its approval.
