3rd World Conference on Women and Sport - Marrakech, 7- 9 March 2004



In the framework of its policy of promoting women in the Olympic Movement, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) will be organising the 3rd World Conference on Women and Sport in Marrakech, Morocco, from 7 to 9 March 2004, in cooperation with the National Olympic Committee of Morocco and under the high patronage of HM King Mohamed VI.


Under the overall theme “New Strategies, New Commitments”, the Conference will analyse the progress made in the field of women's advancement at all levels of sport generally, and in the Olympic Movement in particular. The Conference will also outline priority issues still facing women in sport and address relevant strategies and policy guidelines to meet these challenges in the years to come. All meetings will be open to media and will take place at the Marrakech Congress Centre Hotel. Please find below the details of the Conference.

Accreditation cards will be distributed at the accreditation desk in the lobby of the Congress Centre from 7 March 2004. Cards will be distributed upon presentation of a valid passport and press card.

Media wishing to book accommodation are requested to complete the accreditation form and return it to the IOC Communications Department by 23 February 2004.
