2002 IOC OLYMPIC PRIZE ON SPORT SCIENCES RECIPIENT TO BE ANNOUNCED AT IOC HEADQUARTERS IN SWITZERLAND


WHO:
International Olympic Committee (IOC) Medical Commission in partnership with Pfizer

WHAT:
IOC Olympic Prize recognizes an elite researcher in the area of sport sciences; it is the highest honor accorded in the field of movement, exercise and sport sciences.

Olympic Prize recognizes research that significantly contributes to the physical betterment of humankind and has a significant impact on science and society

Winner receives $500,000, a Diploma of Excellence and will be awarded an Olympic medal at the Olympic Games

WHEN:
The IOC Olympic Prize is awarded in conjunction with every Olympic Summer and Winter Games; the 2002 winner will be revealed on December 12th, 2001 at 6:30 PM
