Lausanne, 30 March 2001 - The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is launching the second and final phase of the media accreditation process for its 112th Session in Moscow from 13 to 16 July 2001.

During the Session, the IOC will take two landmark votes: to elect the host city of the Games of the XXIX Olympiad in 2008 on 13 July and to elect a new IOC President on 16 July. The media will be able to follow the proceedings via closed circuit and through scheduled briefings and news conferences.

Each media representative wishing to cover the IOC 112th Session must submit the accompanying individual form together with a passport photo to the IOC Department of Communications by 30 April 2001.

Failure to meet this deadline will delay the issue of official invitations and therefore jeopardize the chances to obtain a valid visa on time for the Session.

Forms and photos can be posted to the IOC or e-mailed to the following address:

Only journalists with valid media credentials are allowed to apply for media accreditation.
