"Turin: Queen of the snow"

Turin, the host city of the XX Olympic Winter Games, will today, 13 January 2004, inaugurate two pavilions in downtown Turin in order to promote the Games. A big show, entitled "Turin: Queen of the snow", will be staged tonight. The show can be followed as from 9 pm live on

Atrium in "Piazza Solferino"
The two pavilions, called "Atrium" have been built in the centre of the city, Piazza Solferino. On this square will be staged the musical show "Queen of the snow", based on a fairytale by Hans Christian Andersen.

Fairytale by Andersen
The show involves soprano Loredana Arcuri, music groups from Turin, such as "Africa Unite", "Eiffel 65", "Linea 77", "Mabassa" and "Mau Mau", as well as ice skaters, roller skaters and climbers. Video images will give the show an additional spectacular touch.

Party in town
The inauguration of the two pavilions will end with a popular party in downtown Turin.
