"MONACO 2000"


Lausanne, 28 November 2000 - The Olympic Collectors Commission is pleased to announce “Monaco 2000”, one of this year’s most important philatelic events, organised by the Monaco Principality’s Stamp Issuing Office, the Stamp and Coin Museum and the Club de Monte-Carlo, on 1, 2 and 3 December 2000.
“Monaco 2000” will include the International Commercial Exhibition with over one hundred stands representing some 25 postal administrations and 75 international stamp-trading societies, and an exhibition of some of the rarest stamps and philatelic documents in the world.
Under the patronage of H.S.H. Prince Rainier III, this event will take place in the Stamp and Coin Museum of Monaco. The Philatelic Committee of Honour includes the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the General Commissioner A. D. Kroo, President of the Monte-Carlo Club, and J. Fissore, Director of the Monaco Stamp Issuing Office.

“Monaco 2000” will also present to the public the prestigious collection of “Olympic philatelic documents” of the Olympic Museum of Lausanne.
The event will benefit from the presence of the IOC President and of HRH Hereditary Prince Albert, member of the IOC.
