Coach me, please! WEEKEND

So come along and get coached at The Olympic Museum during Easter weekend!

Meet high-level athletes and coaches, immerse yourself in the Olympic values and learn how to become a champion!

Activities, subject to availability, are free of charge and no reservation is required. From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1 to 6 p.m.

Friday 19 April

Discussion: In the footsteps of athlete role models

With the Lausanne-Renens Circus School & Véronique Lugrin (physiotherapist at the Centre Enmouvement)

Discover what goes into the incredible performances staged in circus tents. Physical and mental training, falling down and getting back up again, achieving success… Experience all the steps on the journey towards excellence.

Performance-workshop: What an absolute circus

With the Lausanne-Renens Circus School & Véronique Lugrin (physiotherapist at the Centre Enmouvement)

After the discussion session, get a taste of the physical and mental demands of being a circus performer in a performance-workshop unlike any other. Featuring juggling, diabolo and acrobatic gymnastics, this is a golden chance to familiarise yourself with a unique artform.

“Added values” creative workshop – ages 6 and over

Solidarity, respect, fair play… More than just words? Choose your favourite value, then get cutting out and sticking to make your own personalised badge that’s just as unique as you are!

“Discussion and challenge” workshop – ages 8 and over, family activity

Drop by the exhibition area to take part in an informal discussion about the various Olympic values in small groups. But be prepared to take on the challenges set by the TOM Coach…

Mini-visits – ages 6 and over, family activity

Your time starts… now! Enjoy a 20-minute guided tour of the We are Olympians, and you?  exhibition with our activity leaders, packed with surprising and inspiring facts that will immerse you in the world of Olympic champions.

Saturday 20 April

Discussion: In the footsteps of athlete role models

With Théo Gmür and Gregory Chambaz (Alpine skiing)

Tips from a triple gold medallist from the PyeongChang Paralympic Winter Games and his coach, the head of the Swiss Paralympic skiing team… Can’t say no to that! Come along and learn how to become a great champion and stay at the very top of your discipline.

Performance-workshop: A visit unlike any other

With Théo Gmür and Gregory Chambaz (Alpine skiing)

Once the discussion session is over, it’s time for a special guided tour. Théo Gmür will present the equipment that helped him become a champion and share some tips for you to put into practice on our ski simulator!

Discussion: In the footsteps of athlete role models

With Martin Lejeune and Abdel Mustapha

Not everyone has the ability to become the first ever silver medallist in an Olympic breaking competition… But when your coach is a world champion in the sport himself, it certainly helps matters. Martin and Abdel will both be coming in to share the story of their incredible adventure.

Performance-workshop: Just (Break)dance!

With Martin Lejeune and Abdel Mustapha

Have you got what it takes to become a Bboy or Bgirl ? Come and breakdance with our guests, who will be more than happy to teach you a few moves! A unique chance to learn the basics of this fun sport, which was a new addition to the programme at the Youth Olympic Games 2018.
