Event: Sports Images Weekend

What if you were the photographer?

Over the course of a weekend, The Olympic Museum is inviting children and adults to come and explore the world of sports photography with a series of meeting sessions with photographers, films and interactive workshops – free of charge.

You will have the chance to meet some of the greatest sports photographers of our time at this event.

We have a full programme in store, through which you will get to discover the work of the great sports photographers, learn how to interpret images and get to test out techniques to capture movement.

  • Activities on Saturday 2 September from 2 to 9 p.m. and Sunday 3 September from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • The programme is entirely free of charge

WORKSHOPS

BEHIND THE IMAGES
How do sports photographers manage to produce such incredible photos? This workshop will provide the answers to this question and give you a deeper insight into sports images in general. All the secrets of sports photography will be revealed!

THE PHOTOGRAPHER’S STUDIO
A photography workshop to produce some unusual sports images! Choose from a range of sports outfits from different periods, dress up as an athlete, and then pose in front of a giant green screen. You’ll see yourself appear in a sports photo as if by magic!

AN ARTIST’S EYE

SPORT AT HEART
A portrait gallery of sports lovers, created by the photographer and artist Gérard Uféras. This artistic project showcases the values promoted by sport: excelling yourself, self-respect, respect for your opponent and the rules of play, solidarity, team spirit and the rewards of hard work.
