Pakomuzé workshops at The Olympic Museum

Take advantage of the Easter holiday weekend to learn about Japan through workshops for all ages created by the Museum’s activity leaders. From the Sport X Manga exhibition to kamishibai art, there is something for everyone.

All the activities are free of charge.

Programme of activities:

Create your own Japanese mask workshop

In just over 60 minutes, create your very own manga-inspired mask and learn about the tradition of masks in Japan, from the ancient Noh theatre to their use in manga today.

Friday 10 to Friday 17 + Tuesday 21 to Friday 24: 2-3.15 p.m.; and 3.30-4.45 p.m.

Friday 10 to Monday 13: 10.30-11.45 a.m.

Kaki moji workshop

Boom! Splash! Kerpow! How do you say that in Japanese? Discover the codes of manga and its kaki moji (sound effects lettering), then stand in front of the lens and do your own live version of your favourite scene.

Japanese Corner

A manga library, creative workshops, board games and plenty of other surprises await you in this area, where you can learn all about the favourite games played by Japanese children.

Where: Galerie, level +2

Kamishibai creative workshopby the Musée des Contes et Récits

Pick an athlete’s story and create your own kamishibai (picture story show, the forerunner of manga). You will learn how to tell stories like traditional Japanese story tellers.

Storytelling visits – by the Musée des Contes et Récits

Let yourself be carried away into the world of stories and kamishibai linked to our temporary exhibition. A journey through the world of manga and ancestral Japanese stories.
