Museums Night

Plenty of surprises between 2 p.m. and 2 a.m.!

For this 17th edition, get ready for some unusual experiences and, above all, “make yourself at home!”: a different way of experiencing our Museum until the small hours!

PERMANENT EXHIBITION

Want to relive some great Olympic moments? Share the champions’ emotions? Immerse yourself in history and discover the magic of the Games! A unique experience thanks to scenography incorporating the latest technological innovations.

TEMPORARY EXHIBITION - OLYMPIC LANGUAGE

Embark on a journey to discover the Look of the Games! Shapes, colours and original ideas come together in the imagination of designers to create the visual identity of each edition of the Olympic Games!

  • When: From 2 p.m. to 2 a.m.
  • Until 17 March 2019

PERFORMANCE BY THE CIE LINGA

Three dancers from the Compagnie Linga (Théâtre de l’Octogone in Pully) shine a new light on the milking stool, an object of Alpine popular art, and question the daily relationship between athletes, their equipment and their sport.

  • When: 6, 8 and 10 p.m. (length: 20 minutes)

Workshop: DESIGN YOUR OWN GAMES

Using a digital interface created by an Interactive Media Design class at the French-speaking Switzerland Arts and Communications School (ERACOM), create an imaginary poster for the Youth Olympic Games Lausanne 2020 and demonstrate your creativity!

  • When: Any time from 2 to 11 p.m.

Workshop: PICTOGRAPHIC NOVEL

For each edition of the Games, a multitude of pictograms are invented. Place them in the cartoon slots to tell a story that everyone can understand, regardless of language. Magic!

Workshop: HOPOP-UP!

A piece of paper that transforms into a mascot? Incredible but true! Get folding, cutting out and sticking to create a colourful Olympic pop-up. Hopop-up!

  • Where: Gym, Level 0
  • When: Any time from 2 to 11 p.m.

OLYMPIC LANGUAGE MINI-VISITS

And they’re off! In just 20 minutes, the guides will take you through the “Olympic Language” temporary exhibition, present the key editions of the Games to you and tell you fascinating stories to help you learn all about the visual identity of the Olympic Games.

  • Where: Meet in the Hall, Level 0
  • When: 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 p.m. (length: 20 minutes)

OLYMPIC LANGUAGE MINI-VISIT IN ENGLISH

In collaboration with the Lausanne Immigration Office, the guides will give a special mini-visit in English.

PYJAMA EVENING

Who hasn’t ever dreamed of sleepwalking around a museum at night?

Starting at 10 p.m., make yourself at home! Put on your dressing gown, and come and see us in your fluffy slippers and pyjamas…

  • Where: Throughout the Museum
  • When: Any time from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.

FOOD AND DRINKS AT TOM CAFE

From 2 to 6 p.m.: Snacks and drinks

From 6 to 11 p.m.: Wok-fried chicken with soy beans and crunchy vegetables, jasmine rice (CHF 15),
Fresh fruit salad / Chocolate brownie / Crème caramel (CHF 7)

AFTER PARTY AT TOM CAFÉ

Starting at 11pm :

End the night in style, the museums’ staff turns into DJs and welcomes you for a gigantic "battle"!
