Afterwork #3: An evening featuring the best of Japanese animation

The third evening at TOM Café and in the Museum Park to immerse yourself in the fairy-tale world of anime!


  • Discussion with Studio Ponoc: How do you create a sports anime?

We shall have the great privilege of welcoming Messrs Yoshiaki Nisimura and Yoshiyuki Momose, who have produced a short animated film on the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. They will tell us the secrets of how it was produced before it is shown at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival.

7 – 8 p.m. – Galerie

  • Mini-visit to the “Sport x Manga” exhibition with a TOM coach

In just 20 minutes, get to the heart of the exhibition and discover the incredible influence sports manga has had on Japanese society.

6 – 9 p.m., every half-hour – Starting at TOM Café

  • Retrogaming area – by the Musée Bolo

A whole area filled with sports-themed video games from another era, taken from the Musée Bolo’s collections. A chance to (re)discover the pleasure of being able to see each pixel!

6 – 9 p.m. – Galerie

  • Rakugo show

For a brief moment, let yourself be transported back into the past of ancient Japan with the rakugo stories told by Cyril Coppini, the only French-speaking storyteller to master this form of Japanese verbal entertainment that is both serious and comical.

9 – 10 p.m. – Galerie

  • Animated film show in the Park

Take a seat on one of the mats provided in the Olympic Museum Park, specially decorated for the occasion to help you (re)discover the classics produced by the Japanese animation film studio, Ghibli.

10 p.m. – 2 a.m. – Museum Park
