With teams arriving in Rio de Janeiro and the lighting of the Olympic cauldron just days away, the IOC Athletes’ Commission is at the Olympic Village to support you – the athlete.
Appointed by the athletes for the athletes, Commission members make sure the Olympic Movement encompasses everyone – particularly the issues impacting the sporting dreams and everyday life of athletes.
Composed of seventeen members from seventeen countries that represent fifteen different sports, members are the voice of the athletes that is heard from the grassroots level all the way to the IOC’s executive boardroom. Commission members are involved in key decisions that affect you, from which sports appear on the Olympic Programme and ensuring clean sport to ensuring there’s event tickets for your friends and family.
Should you have a query, concern or feedback, or would just like a chat to get to know more about how the commission supports athletes, head to the IOC Space. Located just outside the main entrance to the village’s dining hall, the venue is where you can find athlete commission members and hear about IOC initiatives in place to support you on and off the field of play.
A panel discussion with Athletes’ Commission members will take place on 6 August at 8pm inside the IOC Space. When you visit, don’t forget to vote for your new IOC Athletes’ Commission members.
Make your voice heard: visit the IOC Space and vote. When you do, don’t forget to say hello to your IOC Athletes’ Commission representatives. They are here in Rio for you.
