The Whole Picture: 10 delicious dishes to eat in PyeongChang

Naengmyeon – cold buckwheat noodles in a tangy broth, topped with slivers of radish, cucumber, and egg, and seasoned with vinegar and Korean mustard

Kimchi – a traditional spicy side dish made of seasoned vegetables (usually cabbage)

Bibimbap ­­– an entire meal in a bowl, featuring mixed vegetables, rice, beef, and egg, plus sesame oil and a dollop of chilli paste

Bulgogi – sweet sliced beef that has been marinated in soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, sugar, and other ingredients and then grilled

Galbi –grilled short ribs that are marinated in ganjang-based sauce (Korean soy sauce)

Jajangmyeon – a noodle dish topped with a thick sauce made of chunjang (a salty black soybean paste), diced pork and vegetables

Samgyeopsal – thick, fatty slices of pork belly meat, cooked on a grill at your table, eating at a samgyeopsal restaurant is an experience in itself

Samgyetang – a thick, ginseng chicken soup consisting of a whole young chicken filled with garlic, rice, scallion and spices

Sundubu Jjigae – a hot and spicy stew made with soft tofu, clams, an egg and gochujang (a Korean savoury chilli pepper paste)

Tteokbokki – this iconic street food consists of steamed rice cakes, fish cakes and a sweet and spicy sauce made of chilli paste
