Organise your year
Read our step-by-step guide on how to use our content calendar, which could help transform your personal brand.
Within the Athlete365 Personal Brand toolkit, you’ll find our exclusive downloadable content calendar that will help you to plan when and what to post on your social media channels and other platforms throughout the year.
Your online presence is crucial to boosting your brand as an athlete and ultimately attracting sponsors – that’s why we want to make it even simpler for you to reach out and share great content with your supporters.
What is it?
Covering each day of the year, our 12-month content calendar will act as your diary in planning, scheduling and organising what to post and when.
Alongside any chosen day, you’ll see space to note down the content, platform, format and owner, which will allow you to see more clearly what you’ve got scheduled or what you’re aiming to share.
This might be something that you will use and edit yourself, or there may be someone in your entourage that you feel has the experience to help out. Take the time to consider who is in the best position to contribute – or whether you need to hire someone to handle it on a part-time basis.
Why should I use it?
There’s nothing wrong with a spontaneous post, which are necessary to engage with your followers, but it’s much more effective and time-efficient to plan ahead. Having a clear schedule will help you avoid missing deadlines, and create the space for you to think strategically about what you want to post and why.
As an example, once you have the dates for competitions you are participating in, you could look at how you can engage with your followers in the build-up. That might be a clip of you in training or a behind-the-scenes image of you preparing with your team. Planning ahead will reduce the stress of potentially neglecting great moments to share content.
How do I use it?
It’s simple: within the Personal Brand toolkit, you’ll see an option to download our content calendar. Once you’ve done this, you can open up the file and start editing.
You’ll find space to edit your calendar each day and add pieces of content that you want to share. This could be a New Year’s Day blog post, or an infographic of your performance from a certain race or event.
You might want to consider creating your own coding system to make it easier to digest. That could be the use of colour to separate different formats or platforms, such as the various social channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn etc.).
