Athlete365 leads athlete engagement and education at Lausanne 2020

Throughout the 3rd Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG), a range of fun and interactive learning-based activities have been available in the Youth Olympic Village as part of the Athlete365 Education Programme. For the first time at the YOG, Athlete365 has also provided an exclusive Athlete365 Lausanne App for you with all the need-to-know information and has been supervising the PinQuest game, where you can win amazing prizes for correctly answering questions around key Athlete365 topics.

  • Athlete365 has been responsible for the Athlete Education Programme at the YOG.
  • Athlete365 has also been engaging with athletes through an exclusive Athlete365 Lausanne 2020 App.
  • Come and visit the Athlete365 Awareness Zone to win exclusive goodies and learn in a fun, interactive format.

With the first wave of athletes now having left Lausanne 2020, more than 1,000 athletes have checked into their “home from home” in Lausanne and St Moritz to compete, learn and share experiences. And just like the first wave of athletes, there are a number of activities in both Villages designed to enhance their first taste of Olympic action.

Exclusive Apps, pins, and prizes

For the first time at the YOG, all of the information that you need is in one place. The Athlete365 Lausanne App is the place to get news, maps, profiles of your Athlete Role Models, a summary of your key responsibilities, and all the key info about activities going on in the Youth Olympic Village – from Chat with Champions sessions to the Olympic Channel’s daily live show.

The other must-have App to enhance your YOG experience is PinQuest. Designed exclusively for YOG athletes, you can join the treasure hunt for virtual pins in the Youth Olympic Village and answer a series of questions around the key Athlete365 themes to collect them all. Then, head to the Yodli Café to exchange them for the real collectors’ items!

Athlete365 Awareness Zone

You can also get your hands on a host of free goodies in the Athlete365 Awareness Zone, where there are a number of tablets to support learning in a fun and interactive environment.

Go to the Believe in Sport booth to play the popular ‘Share/Don’t Share’ game about what you should or shouldn’t post on social media, and take away an exclusive Athlete365 power bank – super useful for charging low phone batteries in the winter cold. Across the room, you can also visit the Athlete365 Career+ stand to find out how your athlete skill-set can translate to the job market, and the Olympic Solidarity booth, which has fun balance board and air hockey games to play, and information about how you can access IOC funding to boost your sporting and non-sporting career.

Learn about crucial topics

Also be sure to check out the WADA booth to take the ‘Play True’ quiz and get your hands on an exclusive winter buff (perfect if you’re up in the mountains), and to pop next door to the Safe Sport area. Here, the IOC Safeguarding Officer will take you through a number of educational tools so that you can learn about the crucial issue of safeguarding and what it means, while you can also discover the importance of prioritising athlete mental health. This is the first time there has been a mental health activation at the YOG as Athlete365 continues to shine a light on the subject.

“You enter and you immediately feel at home,” said Oriol Olm Rouppert, a ski mountaineer from Andorra, about the Athlete365 Awareness Zone. “These are very important topics for our education, and when you come to the YOG you want to meet new people and have these new experiences. This is a great way.”

The Athlete365 Awareness Zone is open until 20 January in the St Moritz Youth Olympic Village, and until 22 January in the Vortex. Come and visit us to learn, win prizes and join the biggest global athlete community!
