This Symposium dealt with various aspects of the impact of the Olympic Games on the host country and city: environment and town planning, economics and tourism, education, sporting, political, cultural and social aspects. This topical theme brought together 200 participants, including some 60 speakers.

In collaboration with the IOC Radio and Television Commission.More than 20 conferences to analyse the growing importance of TV in the Olympic Games, through three main themes: The First 50 years; Broadcasting the Olympic Games Today; and Future Prospects.

Olympic Villages, which represent a very special place within the Olympic Movement, were at the core of conferences of the Symposium on Olympic Villages One Hundred Years of Urban Planning and Shared Experiences.Olympic Ceremonies - 1995
Olympic Ceremonies - Historical Continuity and Cultural Exchanges was the first Symposium organised by the International Chair in Olympism, and covered this major theme of Olympism through four main sessions dedicated to Olympic Ceremonies and Rites; Olympic Ceremonies in History; Modern Olympic Ceremonies; and A Television Spectacle.
11th World Congress of the International Association for Sports Information (IASI) - 2001
Organised in collaboration with the Institute of Sport Sciences and Physical Education (University of Lausanne), this Congress on "Sport Information in the Third Millennium" dealt with five major themes: sports information management, sports information and Olympism, new technologies and sports information, geographical development of sports information and economical and legal aspects of sports information.![]()
