ATHLETISM: CARL LEWIS' GOLDEN SHOES
Carl Lewis, Los Angeles 1984.
Carl Lewis' career started in Los Angeles in 1984 and lasted until the 1996 Centenary Games in Atlanta where he claimed a ninth gold medal and a fourth consecutive long-jump title.
Lewis's career is unique in the Olympic annals.
The Museum is proud to display the track-shoes worn by this great American athlete, during the 200 metres finals he won at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
