The Association of Friends of the Museum was formed on 20 January 1993, and is presided by Georges-André Carrel, director of the sports department of the University of Lausanne and the EPFL, as well as an international volleyball referee with the FIVB. The association has a threefold aim: to participate in spreading the image of the Museum, to promote business for it and to enrich its patrimony.

Its aim is to have the population take part in the life and the activities of the Museum by becoming members of the Association of Friends.
