One of the key bodies of the Olympic Movement is the International Olympic Committee (IOC), headed by the new IOC President, Jacques Rogge.

113th SESSION

The IOC meets every year at its Session to define the main direction of the Olympic Movement. Last July, the Session in Moscow saw the elections of the city of Beijing to organise the Games of the XXIX Olympiad in 2008, and of the 8th IOC President, Jacques Rogge. This year, the 113th Session will, among other things, be updated on the progress of the Athens and Turin Games.

IOC ORGANISATION

The International Olympic Committee (IOC), founded on 23 June 1894 at the Paris Congress, is the supreme authority of the Olympic Movement. It owns all rights relating to the symbol, flag, motto, anthem and the Olympic Games. It is an international non-governmental, non-profit-making organisation.
