All the events parallel to the Games.
The Olympic Games are always accompanied by events which make the Games a great festival. This year in Salt Lake City the Olympic Art Festival is being held. Concerts are given, exhibitions staged, etc.
DOWNTOWN SALT LAKE CITY
During the Games, Salt Lake City takes on a completely different look, with pictures of athletes covering the walls of major buildings around the city. Discover the "Look of the Games" in Downtown Salt Lake City.
SECURITY
Security was reinforced everywhere around Salt Lake City for the period of the Games. The accreditation centre provides very specific authorisations for each individual, and controls are tight at all venues.
NATIVE AMERICANS
Native Americans take an active part in the Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City. Five tribes performed during the Opening Ceremony, and signs of the native american cultural heritage are visible through statues around the city. A special exhibition is also set during the Olympics Art Festival: "Discover Navajo - People of the Fourth World".
