YOG on the Road… to FIS World Cup Final in Lenzerheide

13/04/2011

We have been on the road for the whole season and our van is getting messier by the day, but our tour of the coolest international winter sports events is still going strong. Our latest pit stop was in Lenzerheide, Switzerland, for the FIS World Cup Final.

Bringing together the best alpine skiers from around the world, the FIS World Cup Final is a highlight for all slope-worshipers and this year it was buzzing with chat about the first ever Winter Youth Olympics in Innsbruck next January.

With the help of our finish area passes, we grabbed a few moments with some of the top competitors to ask what advice they had for the young athletes going to Innsbruck and what they do to relax when they are not skiing. We even caught up with Olympic Downhill champion Lindsey Vonn, who has recently been announced as the first Ambassador for the inaugural Winter Youth Olympic Games.

It was a great way to end our ‘YOG on the road’ tour of the alpine ski and snowboard season - check out the round up of some of our favourite moments in this clip.

But while it’s the end of the season for some athletes, many more winter sports are still going, which means there is still more to come from the YOG team on the road. Watch this space for more videos coming your way soon.
