Youth Olympic Games Ambassador Lindsey Vonn made a surprise appearance at the London 2012 Olympic Games on Thursday to show her support for the all the YOG athletes from Singapore 2010 competing at the Games.

Never one to take things slow, the Alpine ski racer enjoyed a whistle-stop tour of the Olympic Park. First stop the artistic gymnastics, where she met Team USA’s Savannah Vinsant, who will compete in the women’s trampoline competition later today (4 August). Lindsey, an Olympic champion herself, timed her visit well as she was able to watch Gabrielle Douglas win gold for USA in the women’s individual all-around.

Next, it was on to the Aquatics Centre for the swimming competition, where Lindsey joined Team USA in cheering on fellow YOG Ambassador Michael Phelps to victory in the 200m individual medley – the 16th Olympic gold medal of his incredible career!

Thursday evening was topped off with some basketball as USA’s men took on Nigeria in the preliminary round, winning by a sizeable margin.

Over the next few days, Lindsey will get to as many sports events as possible to support YOG athletes, so look out for her in the crowd!
