It seems like the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore and in Innsbruck were so long ago but now a bunch of the Young Reporters, including myself, are heading to London for the 2012 Olympic Games. We all have been in touch and are preparing for perhaps the biggest and most intense moment in our careers, so far.
I went back to the Canadian Arctic where I report for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in Iqaluit, Nunavut. In London, I will have my own blog and will also be keeping one for the Sports Media Canada Association. I will also be reporting for the Canadian Olympic Committee.
You'll remember some of my colleagues… My co-anchor from Youth Olympic Games TV, Luke Dufficy, from Australia, will be sending stories back to the WIN Network for the whole country to watch. He is the only reporter going to the Games from his company so he has a lot of work ahead of him.
India's Sonali Prasad has been quite busy. Right after Austria, she went to Los Angeles and presented at the IOC Conference on Women and Sport. She was also asked to be on the IOC Press Commission. We are very proud of her. Sonali is already in London working for the Press Association and will be at the journalistic centre of things throughout the Games.
Even though all of us Young Reporters will be reporting for different organisations, we are planning to get together and catch up on each other’s journalism adventures since we were last together.
