Let’s hear it for the girls!

08/03/2012

Did you know that 8 March is International Women’s Day? We thought we would celebrate with some good old fashioned girl power by bigging up some of the women that have made the Youth Olympic Games special!

Here’s to Yuka Sato, who became the first person in history to win a gold Youth Olympic Games medal when she won the triathlon event at Singapore 2010.

To Sara Takanashi, who soared into the history books as the first woman to win a ski jumping competition at an Olympic event, when the event made its debut at Innsbruck 2012.

And, of course, to our amazing YOG Ambassadors, Yelena Isinbaeva, Yuna Kim and Lindsey Vonn. Three women who inspire greatness in others through their own incredible achievements.

Let’s hear it for all the girls who gave 100 per cent in the name of the YOG and who continue to strive to be the best they can be on and off the field of play.

Nice work ladies. We salute you!
